Kathleen Pine (pinetree) > The mineral stains give the color to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Red and orange are iron, black is manganese, white is limonite, and green is traces of copper.
Kathleen Pine (pinetree) > Miner's Castle at Picture Rocks National Lakeshore. Superior is so clear around this area. The water reminded me of somplace like the Bahamas. Just recently Miner's Castle lost one of its turrets. Wish I could have seen it whole, as it had been for so very long. And then Easton became the unofficial tour guide later on, when he just HAD to escort 2 lovely ladies down so they would not get hurt (since he knew the way so well). Hmm, he had just been complaining about his knee when he was miraculously healed for the damsels in distress.
